Patti Stanger may have Millionaire Matchmaker fans up in arms with her recent homophobic and anti-Semitic remarks, but according to a former client of the reality star, her discriminatory comments are nothing new. “She mentioned several times that my curly hair was ‘too Jewish,’ and asked me why I didn’t get my nose fixed for my Bat Mitzvah,” proud Jewish-American Bryce Gruber, who appeared on season four of Patti’s Bravo reality show, tells In Touch.
In addition to being bullied for her looks last year, and then called “uptight” by Patti on her recent episode of Watch What Happens: Live with Andy Cohen, Manhattan socialite Bryce was highly unsatisfied with her experience on the series. “She didn’t listen to me when I said what I wanted,” Bryce, the 27-year-old founder of the popular women’s website TheLuxurySpot.com, explains. “She got upset with me when I said I didn’t like any of the men she picked and, off-camera, she pulled me aside and said, ‘If you want to look like a sweetheart to America, you’ll pick the teacher.’ She coerced me.”
Patti’s former assistant Chelsea Autumn, who left Patti’s matchmaking service after eight years in 2010, has an explanation for the queen of mean’s outlandish behavior. “I think she has a lot of deeper issues that she’s never really dealt with,” the 30-year-old, who left Patti’s business to found Queen of Hearts, tells In Touch. “I don’t think she loves herself, and if you don’t love yourself, no one else is going to be able to love you.”
