Manager Allegedly Paid PopBlast to Leak Shane Dawson Story

Last week, YouTuber Shane Dawson was accused of being a pedophile, and now PopBlast — which was first to run the story — claims Logan Paul’s manager paid them to do so. According to Metro, the site posted a video on YouTube called “Receipts,” which contained a screenshot of a Paypal receipt for $6,500. In the screenshot, you can see Jeffrey Levin’s name, who is Logan’s manager.

However, Shane himself has said he doesn’t believe Logan’s camp is behind it, and YouTube has now removed the PopBlast channel. Shane wrote, “I genuinely think someone was trying to make a conspiracy theory about me in real time. uploading clues, hints, etc. i don’t believe logan’s people had anything to do with it. it seems almost scripted. it’s all very fascinating. gotta love the internet!”

On Jan. 10, the fan account put out an edited video in which Shawn made jokes about being a pedophile, and took his words out of context to make it sound like he was calling babies “sexy.” He has since released a 15-minute video apologizing for the immature jokes that he made in a podcast six years ago, but making it very clear that none of it is even remotely true. “I am not a f—king pedophile,” he says repeatedly, insisting that the accusations are “disgusting.”

Meanwhile, YouTube revealed that they were finally cutting ties with Logan — who is one of their most popular creators — after his offensive comments about the “suicide forest” infuriated fans. “In light of recent events, we have decided to remove Logan Paul’s channels from Google Preferred,” a YouTube spokesperson told Variety. “Additionally, we will not feature Logan in Season 4 of Foursome and his new originals are on hold.” At this point, Logan’s channel still exists and they have not mentioned any plans to remove it.
