Madison Beer Stops Concert After a ‘Disturbance’ in the Crowd

False alarm? Pop singer Madison Beer was forced to stop her performance at the BottleRock 2019 festival in Napa Valley on Saturday, May 25, after an alleged gun threat. According to fan-recorded concert footage, fans thought that a man in the crowd had allegedly pulled a gun or a weapon which caused the 20-year-old to abruptly stop singing. But In Touch can confirm that while there was a disturbance, the man did not pose a major threat.

“There was a minor disturbance at the Bai Stage during the Napa Valley BottleRock concert on Saturday,” read a statement from the Napa City Police Department. “There was a disturbance, at 5:45 p.m., but no weapon was involved and no one was injured. The man who caused the disturbance was removed from the grounds, there was no threat to the community.”

Fans did seem very concerned though. In the footage, Madison was singing her cover of Radiohead’s 1992 hit, “Creep.” At one point during the song, Madison stopped singing and ran off to the side of the stage, speaking into the mic. “What’s going on? Yo yo yo, hello, pay attention. What’s going on?” she said, trying to grab her team’s attention. “Yo yo yo, what the f–k is going? Hey, you guys, back up, everybody back up.”

There was some confusion in the crowd and fans dispersed. Madison addressed her fans, “I don’t know what’s going on, we’re gonna figure it out. Everyone get back. I love you guys. I don’t know what is happening. I’m sorry.”

After a few moments, Madison asked her team, “Yo are we good?” After consulting with security, they gave her the OK to return to the stage to continue her performance for her fans. “Alright we’re good,” she said. “Thank you guys, I’m so sorry. I don’t know what just happened. But thank you for being smart, all of you handled that really well.”
