It’s confirmed! Back in February, theJasmineBrand quietly reported that E! had given the reality TV franchise WAGS the ax. Now, former WAGS star Dominique Penn confirmed that the WAGS franchise — a series that followed the extravagant lives of Wives And Girlfriends of Sports stars —has been officially canceled.
“WAGS is canceled, the whole franchise,” Dominique revealed during an interview on The Morning Toast with Claudia and Jackie Oshry. “I think there was to the head people of E!, they brought on a whole new staff of development team, and I don’t think [the show] fit with what they were looking for anymore so they decided to cancel it.”
The news is definitely a bit of a bummer for Dominique’s fans because last season of WAGS LA was her first and only time appearing as a cast member of the show. But she also revealed that she wasn’t particularly fond of the edit she received.
“It was a great experience for me because it came right on time but I don’t think it really showed who I was,” Dominique, who is married to NFL player Donald Penn, explained. “I’m a fun person and I’m all about women empowerment, I have my own businesses, and I really felt like they showed a lot of the other women with clothing lines and photo shoots and all this stuff and I’m like, ‘Hold up girlfriend, Dominique has a whole bunch going on’ — it may not be in the fashion fashion world, but I have a lot going on, I wish they would have showed more of that.”
But Dominique doesn’t seem too bothered that the show has been canceled, because she’s got other ways of getting her coin. She was recently in NYC to attend Children’s Club, which is an international exhibition of children’s clothing so that she can buy her fall and spring line for her children’s boutique, Strollers and More!
