Unzipped: How to.. Prep for Spring in pink

It’s officially Spring! According to our calendars, the dead of winter is now a mere memory. This may not fully apply in NYC, but I’m desperately keeping hope alive. So what better way to get in the spirit, than by highlighting one of the most unequivocally Spring color trends, popping pink.

Blushing pinks for Spring may not seem like the most out of the box trend, but I’m willing to be a bit of a purist this season. Houses like Valentino make these pink hues hard to ignore, especially when gliding down ornate runways. This decadent collection inspires a true appreciation for all things feminine with body flattering silhouettes and fresh styling. At Balenciaga, pretty pinks were incorporated solo and in prints to bring pops of color to the palette. I don’t know if I’m more excited about the clever use of Spandex or the thoughtful color pairings, but I need to see these translate to brave new streetwear styles in the coming months.

With Easter coming up rather soon, there will probably be no shortage of pastel pinks on the market. That being said, I’ve found a few of these bubblegum options quite appealing like the Prada feather-trimmed midi skirt and Loewe asymmetrical waffle dress. Both slightly unconventional, but well worth the risk. Or dive into deeper hues with the Miu Miu strapless printed top and Haider Ackermann satin pants. Accessories are also something to consider like the muted J.W. Anderson Pierce bag which is quickly becoming a crowd favorite.

I’ve never owned that much pink, not really that type of girl. But as the seasons change, I feel like we’re all more inclined to make small but impactful changes. So here’s to Spring fever, hot pinks and everything in between.

Brands we love: Vetements + Manolo Blahnik Satin Boots, Balenciaga Gathered Stretch-cotton Top, Prada Feather-trimmed Midi Skirt, Miu Miu Strapless Printed Top, Haider Ackermann Satin Slim-leg Pants, J.W. Anderson Pierce Medium Leather Shoulder Bag, Self-Portrait One-shoulder Guipure-lace Top, Marni Low-slung Wide-leg Cropped Jeans, Michelle Mason Silk-charmeuse Wrap Vest, Loewe Asymmetrical Waffle Dress
