I really hope this doesn’t come across as braggy, but for the rest of the summer I will be in the Hamptons. It is consistently cooler here than the city, at least 10-15 degrees, and it’s glorious. Along with long, easy and breezy dresses, I’ve found myself gravitating toward ankle grazing skirts with light sweaters. This pairing gives the appearance that you have given more thought to your outfit even if you didn’t. And honestly, much of the inspiration for this look came when I discovered this brand.
Not that it matters, but I have been trying to appear a tad more refined. I’m not sure if it’s because I have a birthday looming or just cut 7 inches of my hair, but I have been thinking a lot about a more polished personal style. Not one that changes drastically in theme or personal-ness but styling. I have a strong sense of style and unless I can’t find a size, I don’t want anyone’s suggestions while I’m shopping. Outfits are not only dictated by destination, but my mood. (Also, I have a 2 year old, so function is very important.) When you know your wardrobe and what works for your body choosing a more dimensional outfit takes only a few more minutes that a jumpsuit or a dress. But it conveys so much more.
Here are a few of my skirt/sweater picks for the cooler summer nights to come.
