The fingerless glove

Every fall I buy a couple pairs of gloves. Sometimes I gravitate towards soft suede for the smooth touch, other times I am convinced only cashmere can fend off New York’s biting cold. One winter, I wore mittens for a full three weeks before I lost them and was secretly happy because I had grown tired of not being able to use my fingers. Mittens aside, all this glove buying has been great until recent years when things have become complicated by the iPhone. With the advent of touch screen phones, I found myself frequently peeling of my gloves every time I needed to respond to a text message or look up directions. Not only a pain, but a sure-fire way to end up leaving gloves in cabs, trains… well, anywhere one might answer a call. The remedy to this entire touch screen headache is the fingerless glove. They provide warmth, digital accessibility (no pun intended) and a little bit of a badass biker look. Just look to Karl Lagerfeld for inspiration as he walked alongside his protesting models at the Chanel SS15 show. Nothing Karl does can be wrong!
