Redefining casual pants

January is a tough month for me. With the excitement of the holidays over, and fashion week still a month away, I find it’s sort of a blah month. And just cold. I have little use for January after New Year’s Day. Temperatures are unseasonably chilly and I don’t know about you, but when it’s cold I use every excuse to leave my apartment as infrequently as possible. Certain errands, appointments, and meetings are inevitable, but when you work from home writing most days, the desire to change out of sweatpants and your husband’s old college sweatshirts is low. I have, however, found such desire to at least invest in cool, fitted, track sweatpants (some even come with leather waistbands!) and get rid of the old, oversize, sweats you I even remember how I acquired. I basically live in Eberjey and Daftbird jersey pants – see what I did there? – if we change the name they become a full-functioning addition to your wardrobe like silk pants, or wool pants. Sweatpants as a word sounds as gross as they become.

We all clamor for those comfy pants when we get home, but let’s reach for the slim fitted, cozy ones so we don’t look like we’re totally failing at life. (Or is it just me…?) Lucky for us, many brands have picked up on this and we have plenty to choose from. So, really, there’s no excuse!
