How do you feel about clogs?

I can’t take full credit for this shoe inspiration because I saw this gorgeous photo of Kate Moss leisurely strolling London (as only Moss does) a few weeks ago and immediately began searching the internet for something similar. Clogs are not for everyone – for most they conjure up memories of doctors, nurses, and women of a certain age partial to Eileen Fisher (of whom I am also a fan). I, however, have always loved a clog. They’re like the less overtly sexy cousin to the very popular mule. I liked the stacked heel variety Moss was wearing, but hers looked vintage and with no time to scour vintage shops I hightailed it to Barneys and found this Isabel Marant pair from her Spring collection and instantly fell in love. They were mine! Right after I also found this pair of Swedish Hasbeens, the ultimate clog-maker, in a metallic gold, perfect for short dresses and summer nights. Clogs function as a heel and elongate the leg, but are inherently casual due to their structure and form. The Marants are slip-ons, super easy to hop in and out of them to run down to the bodega or dress up with a jumpsuit for dinner. The Swedish Hasbeens are sandals and because of a proper enclosure pair well with a more put together look, something more premeditated. Some brands like Rachel Comey, Robert Clergerie, and No. 6 have always offered a clog as part of their seasonal update – it’s just part of their DNA. How do you feel about clogs? This pair is on sale right now at Creatures of Comfort and I may need to add this pair to my lineup.
