Now that we’re in the full swing of Spring collections at New York Fashion Week I thought, what a perfect time to share my Fall wish list. It will be chilly by the end of fashion month, so ladies let’s get prepared. Luckily, there are quite a few trends carried over – so if you’re already stocked with an off-the-shoulder top, I wouldn’t buy a new one. Loafers are also sticking around – I’m personally very happy about this as I am Team Comfort all the way. Denim is popping up in new varieties thanks to Virgil Abloh at Off-White. (Apparently, he designed his women’s line from his phone…) Regardless, his re-worked vintage Levi’s feel fresh after seasons of cut up pairs – he fastens them with an oversized exposed zipper (which we obviously love), and sometimes patches. I’m really embracing streetwear right now; experimenting with tour merch over the summer was fun, but to keep it authentic for Fall I have to wear my Off-White jeans with a blouse or something more on the feminine side. In general, I like to keep my wardrobe as least fussy as possible – and this means statement tops with pants or skirts and mulit-functional dresses. Cropped or extra long pants will be fine for Fall; I prefer cropped so I don’t have to wear heels, but if I do, they will be a clog. We’ve been seeing flared pants back for a few seasons, but they really are everywhere right now, and also, cropped. Knit pants are a nice athleisure substitute if you want to give your leggings a break. One style rule I swear by is big on top, small on bottom or vice versa. If your pants are fitted, wear an oversized top. If your top is ribbed and small, wear baggy pants. It’s all about balance. And finally, always a statement coat. A new coat is new season must-have of mine. Even if you buy nothing else, a new coat can change up your vibe. I have committed to this Simone Rocha stunning hound’s-tooth, oversized beauty for the cold weather months. Now, I just have to wait for the temperature to drop. Happy shopping!
