Did you guys always get along growing up? Did you think you would ever work together? What inspired you to both go to design school?
Yes, we have always gotten along growing up. I guess that is what kind of paved the way for our working relationship. We always knew we wanted to do something creative together, but it wasn’t until we went to art school that we really figured out what it would be. We have both always loved fashion and art, and were naturally drawn to design school because of that. We have always been really fascinated by construction and how things are made.
Chloe comme parris has a similar sound to Cushnie et Ochs and even Comme des Garçons. What labels do you admire most?
Proenza Schouler, Yohji Yamamoto, Givenchy, Celine.
Does the collection show during Toronto Fashion Week?
Yes, March 18th.
Are you ready for the FW show?
As ready as one can be!
Which styles are you most excited about?
Taking our prints in a new direction, such as laser etching.
Will you be featuring any new accessories?
Yes, many…think statement earpieces and printed hosiery.
How supportive is the Canadian fashion community?
Will you remain based in Toronto? Any aspirations to show the collection in NY?
For the foreseeable future, yes! Of course, we make regular visits to NY.
Is the line available in the US? Who are some of your ideal stores?
We ship to the US through our online store. We would love to be in Opening Ceremony, Collete, and Barney’s.
